Founder Bio
JMport Design House was founded by Juan Montoya on a simple principle: quality rises to the top. After working through the ranks of top multinational agencies, Juan saw firsthand how complex fee structures, bloated processes and disconnected delivery often got in the way of what mattered most: quality design that works for operators. He envisioned a simpler, more direct approach rooted in first principles, clarity and results.
Raised in MedellĂn, Colombia, Juan moved back to Canada at age 12. Early responsibility shaped his outlook and discipline, reinforcing a belief that value and consistency drive long term success.
At 18, while studying Art Direction, Juan became a father. He worked nights, studied by day and quickly established himself in the field. He began designing for global brands such as Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Nike, before moving into design consulting and working with agencies and organizations including Molson Coors, Ford and Adidas.
JMport was built with a clear mission: to help brands perform at the highest level through clarity, discipline and quality. What began as a small, focused practice grew through its commitment to doing the work properly and delivering results that hold up in the real world.
Today, Juan works closely with entrepreneurs, franchisors and operators who are scaling while protecting the integrity of their brand. JMport exists to help them build systems that support growth, maintain clarity and ensure quality endures over time.
